Queens-Long Island Renal Institute (QLIRI) is licensed by the New York State Department of Health, and is led by a dedicated, interdisciplinary team of experienced Nephrologists and Dialysis Registered Nurses, a Renal Social Worker, and a Registered Renal Dietitian. Our team is ready to meet the individual needs of dialysis patients and families in Queens and Nassau Counties.

Sayed S. Ali, MDSayed S. Ali, MD
Medical Director

Board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology, Dr. Ali has published several articles on topics including renal biopsy and dialysis. His professional memberships include the American Medical Association, American College of Physicians and American Society of Nephrology.

Dr. Ali earned his medical degree from Stony Brook Medical School after completing his undergraduate education magna cum laude at Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education in New York, NY. His post-graduate training included a medical residency and Nephrology fellowship at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. Before joining North Shore Nephrology in 2003, he practiced in the transplant center at The Rogosin Institute.

Dr. Ali is intimately involved in the teaching programs at both Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital. He engages himself in the daily education of the residents to include all aspects of renal disease processes. He has received the prestigious Teaching Award in 2005 and again in 2007. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Urdu.

Nephrologist, Dr. Simon E. PrinceJacqueline Javier-Burns, RN
Nurse Manager

With more than two decades of distinguished nursing practice, including experience at Beth Israel Medical Center and Flushing Manor Dialysis Center, as well as training at Beth Israel School of Nursing and Pace University, Jacqueline Javier-Burns is an accomplished manager of patient care technicians, skilled in directing the collaboration of interdisciplinary teams and developing creative programs and processes to improve quality performance and patient experience, with particular emphasis in sub-acute care and the care of older adults. A member of the American Nephrology Nurses of America and the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultant Association, Ms. Javier-Burns brings compassion, expertise and experience to the Queens-Long Island Renal Institute.

Nicholos Townsend, MHANicholos Townsend, MHA
Administrative Manager

As a member of the United States Navy, Nicholos Townsend worked as an Emergency Medical Technician, as well as the Junior Medical Department Representative onboard the USS Patrick O. Ford. He holds a Masters in Health Administration from Hofstra University, and has served as an Administrator-on-Duty at Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation.

Kristine PadillaKristine Padilla
Assistant Nurse Manager

Kristine Padilla has a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from Molloy College. She is a member of the American Nephrology Nurses Association and a honorary member of The National Scholar Honor Society from Wellington Academy. Ms. Padilla's nursing clinical competency spans from pediatric care to adult-geriatric care from various clinical and leadership roles. Her professional career includes positions as a pediatric nurse at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, an adult-geriatric care nurse at Woodmere Rehabilitation and Health Care Center and a Dialysis Nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager and Nurse Manager at Woodmere Dialysis. Her focus is on all aspects of the patient experience which drives her and her team toward excellence in care.
